Remember this post? Tom Ford has released a line of sneakers, leather and velvet mind you, but sneakers none the less. I joke that Tom Ford has answered my prayers, but let’s be honest, who else can afford to wear Tom Ford other than Jay Z? Also, if anyone can do luxury leather sneakers it’s Lanvin, but I’m not too fussy. His gorgeous and well crafted range is simple in design, but will go well with smart or casual looks and, while safe, will no doubt make a welcome debut.
The seven leather and five velvet shoes are manufactured in Italian workshops by artisan cobblers who “spend a week stitching, polishing and then “resting” the leather for 10 days where the shape of the shoe is created. They’re then hand-polished over three days.” say WWD. I guess that would justify the price points of $690 to $990.
Available at the Tom Ford stores in New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas. Yehaw.
