Sometimes I wish I was more like Alexander Supertramp, minus the ill-fated end to his story, of course. I have belonged to the working world since I was a teenager and while I don’t regret a day of it, I have always felt that usual longing for greener grass. This has been especially strong since I stopped caring as much about fashion as I used to. Now I wonder what it would be like to pause my life and get to travel more. I’ve seen a lot of places in the world but I want to see more. I want dirt roads and salt-water skinny dipping and long walks through towns whose names I can barely pronounce. For now I get to live through the images on my Get Lost board on Pinterest. I had been planning a trip to India in the beginning of the year and before I could book the tickets my brother told me he and his wife were expecting their first child come Christmas. This was of course big news and I decided to reroute my trip to the United States instead. I’ve been lucky enough to go many times. This time however I knew that I’d have to make a stop in New York for a week to end it off. Christmas will be spent in a gorgeous town called Florence, Kentucky and New Years day I arrive in New York. Needless to say it trumps India.
I also plan on adopting a very low-maintenance approach to my travels. Stylistically speaking I don’t need more than a pair of great jeans, a few easy less-creasy shirts, my Sunglass Hut aviators, a great pair of boots and of course a camera to capture the adventure. I know for New York I’ll be taking very little because there will be sales and I will be wielding my credit card left and right. Where do you want to go?
